"Catchy Title Here": Something Something (A lecture on reading and writing History for graduate students)

A lecture by Assistant Professor Matthew Briones on researching and writing History. All History graduate studens and M.A. students in History Seminars are welcome to attend. Students writing seminar papers are especially encouraged to attend. Chair of the Graduate Student Affairs Committte, Prof. Dain Borges, will moderate a discussion following the presentation. Food will be served.

 

The Eric Cochrane Special Lecture
"The Author's Hand: From Invisibility to Fetishism"

Special Guest lecturer, Professor Roger Chartier, holder of the chair in Writing and Cultures in Early Modern Europe at the Collège de France (Paris) will give a lecture titled, "The Author's Hand: From Invisibility to Fetishism". A reception will follow the talk.

 

Workshops

Faculty and students in the Department of History participate in a number of bi-weekly workshops sponsored by the Council on Advanced Studies. Workshops serve as a forum for interdisciplary discussion. Graduate students present disertation work-in-progress and invited scholars discuss their work in a collaborative environment.
