High school students wishing to study History at the University of Chicago should apply for admission to the University through the College.
Graduate Admissions
The History Department welcomes applications from prospective students interested in the Ph.D. in History. Applications are completed online through the Division of the Social Sciences.
For more information on the structure of the PhD and the fields offered, please see our Graduate Program. We strongly encourage applicants to have a specific area of interest and faculty with whom they wish to work indicated in the application.
Applicants interested in a terminal Masters degree in History should apply to the Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences.
