Undergraduate Courses

In addition to the civilization sequences, College students can choose from more than eighty history courses that are offered each year to undergraduates. Some are introductory lectures ("Gateway courses") and others are small seminars devoted to the intense study of a particular historical moment, theme, or event.

Graduate Courses

History graduate courses include 300-level courses, colloquia that are also open to upper-level undergraduates with consent, advanced colloquia open to graduate students only, and unique two-quarter research seminars that consider a historic period or theme in depth, culminating in a major research paper.
