BIOGRAPHY
Kaya Çolakoğlu is a second-year PhD student in History, focusing on the global history of capitalism. His research interrogates law and state authority, focusing on moments when they appear to be at odds with the immediate demands of capitalist transformation. He holds a BA in History from Dartmouth College, where his undergraduate thesis on the Cold War and Turkish developmentalism, Time, Structure and the State in the Turkish Years of Lead (1950-1980), was awarded the Rintels Prize for the Best Thesis in the Social Sciences.
