BIOGRAPHY
I study the global history of postcolonial energy transitions through the lens of development, infrastructure and the environment. I situate this in the 'Third World' (broadly construed), with a focus on West Africa and Southeast Asia, alongside the international networks and production of knowledge that drove the development of energy systems.
I grew up in Singapore, earning a BA in History and Politics from Trinity College, Oxford, and subsequently, a MA in International Energy Transitions from Sciences Po Paris and a MA in International Affairs from Columbia University. My past research has focused on the history of Singaporean public housing, culinary heritage, as well as the climate politics and policies of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
I am happy to speak with prospective students or to anyone with similar interests.
